About the Collection

Every design in the Ichinichi Collection is drawn from a personal archive of original Japanese matchbox labels spanning 1880 to 1940. The Burma export series is among the most historically significant in the collection — labels commissioned for Southeast Asian markets, printed with the full technical mastery of Meiji-era Japanese commercial printing, and largely lost to history until now.
